Pakistan arrests 18 Indian fishermen
KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan arrested 18 Indian fishermen and impounded their three boats on Sunday for allegedly fishing in Pakistan’s territorial waters in the Arabian Sea.
The Indian Fishermen Association has also verified the detention of 18 fishermen and three boats.
The arrested fishermen are the resident of an Indian state’s Saorashtar area. This is the third violation of Indian fishermen of international waters in the last one month.
Such arrests are frequently carried out by both countries, as the maritime border is poorly defined and many fishing boats lack the technology needed to be certain of their precise location.
The Pakistani Coast Guards have handed over the fishermen to the police.
