Pakistan can play a key role in talks with Taliban, says Afghan Ambassador Janan Musazai

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Afghan Ambassador Janan Musazai has said that Pakistan can play an important role in talks with Taliban.

Speaking exclusively in 92 News’ Programme ‘Ho Kaya Raha Hay’, he said that some people in the Taliban leadership support dialogues. “It is hoped that Mullah Umar will also support the dialogues.”

The Afghan envoy said that they had started the dialogue process with Taliban at the government level and Pakistan could play an important role in it.

To a question about Mullah Baradar, he said that Mullah Baradar had not yet reached Afghanistan and he was still out of Afghanistan.

About China’s role in the region, Janan Musazai said: “We are lucky as our relations with China and Pakistan are very good. We welcome the Pakistan China Economic Corridor project and its implementation.”
