Pakistan expresses concern at inhuman treatment of Muslims in Myanmar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has expressed concern at inhuman treatment of Muslims in Myanmar.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Foreign Office spokesman said that current displacement of a large number of Muslims, who are besieged on boats in the Indian Ocean for several days, is worrisome.
He said that Pakistan would fully support an OIC resolution to be presented to the Council of Foreign Ministers in Kuwait.
“Pakistan strongly believes that peaceful coexistence of all communities in Myanmar, with provision of and security, is essential to peace, progress and prosperity of the country,” he said.
He urged the Myanmar authorities to take all necessary measures to restore stability and launch a comprehensive reconciliation process in Rakhine state.
