Pakistan making sincere efforts for reconciliation in Afghanistan: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale has on Thursday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed matters pertaining to bilateral interests and to restore peace in Afghanistan.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the relations between the two countries have improved following his visit to Washington.

He said that Pakistan is an important stakeholder for the stability, peace and development in Afghanistan, adding that Pakistan is making sincere efforts for reconciliation in Afghanistan through an Afghan-led peace process.

The prime minister expressed hope that the bilateral relations will be discussed with the US President Barack Obama on the occasion of nuclear summit.

On the other hand, US Ambassador David Hale appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for revival of peace in Afghanistan and said that the peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of the entire region and Pakistan’s efforts will help a great deal in this regard.
