Islamabad (92 News)-Pakistan has refuted the allegations of Human Rights Watch (HRW) leveled in its report regarding repatriation of Afghan refugees.

Foreign Office Spokesperson in a statement said that baseless allegations of coercion are disappointing and irresponsible.

He said the report is counter-productive to the objective of harmony between the refugees and the host communities as well as the shared goal of dignified voluntary returns.

Spokesperson said as a host country, Pakistan’s exemplary role has been recognized and appreciated by the international community.

He said that Pakistan expects and urges the international community to step up and fulfill their obligations towards Afghan refugees through solidarity and burden sharing.

Spokesperson said Pakistan is committed to safe and voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees in the best interest of the two countries and the region.
