ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal has expressed regret over India’s refusal to avail concessions for Kartarpur pilgrims on 550th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

The FO spokesperson took his twitter and said that as a special gesture Pakistan announced concessions on the auspicious occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak to facilitate pilgrims but India has refused to avail these facilities in blatant disregard of Sikh sentiments.

Dr Faisal said if India does not wish to avail these facilities it is India’s choice.

“As a special gesture, #Pakistan announced concessions on the auspicious occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary of #BabaGuruNanak to facilitate pilgrims. This has been REFUSED by #India in balatant disregard of Sikh sentiments,” the FO tweeted.

Earlier, PM Imran Khan has announced to waive off two requirements for Sikh pilgrimages coming to Kartarpur from India.

In a tweet, the prime minister said that the Sikh pilgrimages will not need a passport and just have a valid Identity Card. He said they no longer have to register ten days in advance.

Prime Minister also announced that no fee will be charged on day of inauguration of Kartarpur and on Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th birthday.
