ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic turned grimmer in Pakistan with 78 more fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1,621 while the total cases of the deadly viral infection nears 76,398-mark on Tuesday.

According to health officials, 577,974 COVID-19 tests, including 16,548, were conducted so far in the country. With 3,938 new coronavirus cases detected in the last 24 hours, the total tally now stands at 66,457, the ministry said.

27,850 cases have so far been detected in Punjab, 29,647 in Sindh, 10,485 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4,514 in Balochistan, 2,893 in Islamabad, 738 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 271 in Azad Kashmir.

27,110 patients have so far recovered from the virus while the death toll stands at 1,6548 with 78 deaths reported during the last twenty four hours.
