Pakistan to host SAARC heads meeting next year, FM Qureshi confirms
NEW YORK (92 News) – Pakistan will host the meeting of South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) head next year, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has confirmed.
He announced that all members countries have showed willingness to join next SAARC meeting in Pakistan.
“Pakistan will propose the date of meeting of SAARC heads soon and final date will be announced in consultation with member states,” Quresi told reporters in New York.
He said being host he extended invitation to all SAARC members for heads meeting, adding India remained silent this time as last year it had objected over meeting.
Meanwhile, the foreign minister held meetings with his counterparts of Bahrain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia and discussed matters concerning bi-lateral relations.
