Pakistan wants more strengthened ties with Sri Lanka, says PM Nawaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan wants more strengthened ties with Sri Lanka.
Addressing a joint press conference with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena at the PM House on Monday, he said that they signed six memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to enhance bilateral cooperation. “We want to take bilateral trade to US$1 billion.”
The prime minister said that Pakistan wants pleasant relations with its all neighbours.
The Sri Lankan president said that the agreements have been signed to advance cooperation in disaster management, sports, shipping, socio-economic development, education and narcotics control.
“Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s relations span over six decades and are characterized by mutual respect, understanding and cooperation,” he said.
