Pakistanis drowned in Egypt’s Nile laid to rest in Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) – A Pakistani man, his wife and daughter, who died after their boat capsized in the Nile, were laid to rest in Lahore on Wednesday while the body of another girl could not be recovered. Four Pakistani tourists who hailed from the same family drowned in the Nile in Cairo’s Boulaq Abu El-Ela district after their boat capsized in the river. The Egyptian police were able to rescue six of the people who were aboard the boat. Egyptian authorities said that the boat had a valid operation license which expires in February 2018. The authorities were investigating the deadly accident have taken the boat's sailor into custody and are questioning the owner. The boat was not equipped with life-saving equipment that could have prevented the four deaths, according to investigations conducted by the Egyptian authorities. The case report on the incident was made public, and the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo had been informed of the findings so that they can conduct their own investigations.
