Pakistan’s improves transparency ranking: TI

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Transparency International (TI) has on Wednesday said that Pakistan is the only country among the SAARC countries that improved its Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) score.

In its 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) released, Transparency International ranked 168 countries based on perceived levels of public-sector corruption, with the rate of corruption has decreased in Pakistan becoming the only country among SAARC countries that improved its ranking.

According to the report, Pakistan’s rank has improved by three with CPI score increased by one point to 30.

Denmark edged out Finland to win the title as the least corrupt country in the world and Somalia and North Korea being declared the most corrupt. The high levels of corruption in Afghanistan – which was ranked 166th – Iraq (161st), Turkmenistan (156th), and Uzbekistan (153rd) placed them all near the bottom of the index.
