Panama case: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to appear before JIT today
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will appear before the joint investigation team (JIT) probing into the Panama Leaks case on Thursday.
The JIT is likely to question him about Hudaibia Paper Mills and money laundering during its 38th meeting.
Stringent security arrangements have been made around the Judicial Academy.
More banners have been displayed in favor of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Meanwhile, a high-level meeting of the PML-N leaders was held that reviewed all options and matters.
The PML-N leaders had decided to call 1,000 workers from each union council of the city, but Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stopped from visiting Judicial Academy.
On the other hand, the JIT is being criticized since its establishment.
PM’s son Hussain Nawaz appeared before the JIT five times. Uproar was raised when his photo of the first hearing leaked. Hassan Nawaz, PM’s younger son, has also appeared before the JIT twice.
During the 37 meeting, the SECP officials and NBP President Saeed Ahmed were summoned with the records.
Tariq Shafi was also investigated. Meanwhile, the JIT has also summoned Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on June 17.
PM’s son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar has also been summoned by the JIT on June 24.
