Panama Leaks: JIT likely to summon more witnesses next week
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has on Sunday in its 41st meeting is considering expanding the scope of investigation and is likely to issue summons for more witnesses next week.
The 41st meeting of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was held at the Judicial Academy in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the JIT decided to expand the scope of investigations into Park Lane flats, Hudabiya Paper Mills and Al-Toufeeq and is expected to issue summons for more witnesses next week.
The JIT is also considering recording the statement of former Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) director Inaam-ur-Rehman. The former FIA director had made startling revelations in a program in local TV channel.
It is pertinent here to mention that Hussain Nawaz, son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appeared five times before the six-man panel, while Hassan Nawaz has appeared two times, while Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif have one time appeared before the JIT.
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had also summoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar but he refused to appear before the six-man panel due to personal engagements.
