Pathankot Air Base attack: Terrorist shot dead, one more holed up
PATHANKOT (92 News) – A day after the Pathankot air force base was attacked by terrorists, one terrorist is currently holed up at the base and extensive combing operations continue at the base as well as in the village, Indian media reported.
The security forces had declared the air base clear following the attack but according to Indian media reports another terrorist holed up in the airbase.
A blast and gunfire have been heard as a security operation resumed at India’s Pathankot Air Force base a day after it was attacked by gunmen. At least 10 people were killed in a 15-hour standoff between militants and troops.
The violence continued at the Indian Air Force (IAF) base near a frontier town of Pathankot, northern India, on Sunday morning during a security mopping-up operation. Security services reportedly said two more terrorists may still be inside the airbase, while the gunfire continues, according to local media.
Two security personnel have been reportedly wounded in the new blast as troops scoured the base.
