Two passengers martyred in plane tragedy buried in Rawalpindi
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Two passengers who were killed in a plane crash were buried in Rawalpindi on Monday.
President Dr Arif Alvi attended the funeral of Raja Asif Fayyaz. Earlier, bodies of three people were handed over to their relatives.
Several bodies, including Ammar Rashid, were shifted to Lahore. Raja Asif and Syed Danish were cousins and travelling with their friend Malik Zeeshan.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda visited the house of the martyred Major Shehryar Fazal and Lieutenant Shaheer. He offered his condolences with the relatives of the martyred army officers.
The PIA spokesman said that a majority of bodies were beyond recognition. “We have taken the samples of the relatives and at least 10 days are needed to ascertain the identity,” he maintained.
As many as 97 people were martyred when a PIA plane crashed while landing at Karachi airport.
