PM arrives in Kyrgyzstan capital, signs several MoUs

BISHKEK, KYRGYZSTAN (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived Thursday on a two-day official visit.

As per reports, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev and First Lady received the PM and Begum Kalsoom Nawaz at the Bishkek International Airport.  He was given guard of honour on his arrival.

During the delegation-level talks, the two sides discussed issues of mutual cooperation in various fields.  MoUs and agreements were signed during the visit, along with reiterating the resolve to help create peace and harmony in the region.

Addressing a joint press conference after the meeting, Nawaz Sharif said that both the countries want peace and harmony in the region. “For this reason, strategic partnership between the two countries will be enhanced,” he said.


The visit of the Prime Minister to Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan will provide an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. The visit would take this process forward, advancing the shared goals of peace, stability and development in the region.

The Prime Minister’s delegation included Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir, Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal, Political Secretary Dr. Asif Kirmani and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
