PM meets COAS, chairs Apex Committee meeting in Karachi
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah received Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after he arrived for a one-day visit of the metropolitan city on Monday, 92 News reported.
The Prime Minister visited the Corps headquarters and held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. DG ISI Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar and Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar were also present on the occasion. The prime minister was apprised on National Action Plan implementation and Operation Zarb-e-Azb for eliminating terrorism from the country.
Later, the PM reached Governor House where he chaired the provincial Apex Committee Meeting. Progress on action taken on Baldia town tragedy was also discussed in detail.
It was agreed in the meeting that radius of Karachi operation will be extended while operation in other parts of Sindh will also commence.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari also met the premier at the Governor House in a one-on-one meeting and discussed several matters of national interest.
The prime minister is also scheduled to meet members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
