PM Imran Khan briefed about implementation of Karachi Transformation Plan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a high-level meeting with regard to the Karachi Transformation Plan on Thursday.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed about implementation of the Karachi Transformation Plan. It reviewed the uplift projects under the plan.
The meeting was told that over 100 projects have been planned under the Karachi Transformation Plan which will be completed at a cost of Rs 1.117 trillion. These projects have been divided into three phases in terms of completion.
The meeting was summoned on the request of Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed on permanent solution to Karachi's problems and timely completion of all projects in this regard. He said that the damage caused by rain water in Karachi during monsoon every year is due to illegal constructions on drains.
He clearly directed that alternative arrangements should be made in advance for the deserving residents of Karachi before removing the encroachments.
Federal Ministers Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Asad Umar, Faisal Wawda and Adviser to PM on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh were also present.
