ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Kashmiris have kept alive the Sunnah of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and made the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) another great example of battle between the good and evil.

In his message on Yaum-e-Ashur, the prime minister paid tributes to the sacrifices of Kashmiri people who had been struggling against the Indian imperialism in the Occupied Kashmir.

“This day revives the unprecedented and supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). The life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) gives a message that all the ordeals in the path of righteousness should be tolerated in a broad manner and even one should be ready to lay down one’s life to the satisfaction of the Creator. Having such passion, one could make a significant achievement in the world and for the motherland,” he said.

He said the Kashmiri people have kept alive the Sunnah of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and made the Occupied Kashmir another great example of battle between the good and evil.

PM welcomes growing demands for India to lift siege of IOJK

On September 9, Prime Minister Imran Khan had welcomed the growing concern and demands by the international community, global leaders, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) for India to lift its six-week siege of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

In a tweet on Monday, he said that the international community must not remain indifferent to the massive human rights abuses by Occupation Indian forces under cover of a brutal siege.

“I especially welcome the statement by the UNHCHR chief in Geneva today. I call upon the UN Human Rights Council to immediately set up the independent investigation commission to probe human rights abuses in IOJK as recommended by the UNHCHR’s two reports on Kashmir. The time to act is now,” he said.
