PM Imran Khan summons NCC on Covid-19 to decide on smart lockdown today
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) on Covid-19 on Monday.
The committee is likely to make important decisions, including imposition of smart lockdown. The NCC meeting will start at 4:15pm after a meeting of the federal cabinet.
The committee will be briefed about the Covid-19 situation. It will also approve the closure of educational institutions.
High-ranking officers of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and the Health Department will participate in the meeting.
Meanwhile on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
The PM was briefed about the loss of lives due to the pandemic and capacity of hospitals. "In the first phase, we controlled the pandemic through marvellous strategy and timely decisions. The world acknowledge Pakistan's strategy to control coronavirus," it was briefed.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed the need for seriousness, balance and caution in the second phase as well.
He directed that all possible steps should be taken to stop the spread the pandemic and save lives.
Federal Ministers Makhdoom Khusru Bakhtiar, Shafqat Mahmood, Hammad Azhar, Shibli Faraz, SAPMs Sania Nishtar, Dr Faisal Sultan and Adviser Abdur Razzaq Dawood attended the meeting.
