PM inaugurates LNG terminal at Port Qasim
KARACHI (92 News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has on Sunday said that the projects initiated by the government to overcome energy crisis in the country have started yielding positive results.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the second LNG terminal at Port Qasim in Karachi on Sunday, he said that the government does not believe in hollow slogans and completion of the second LNG terminal at port Qasim is a proof of that.
The prime minister expressed the hope that the load shedding will completely come to an end in the country by the end of November this year.
Abbasi said that the government brought this inexpensive source of energy to the country in record time, adding that the previous three governments made several attempts to introduce LNG source of energy but failed.
Within 11 months of the contract signed, the terminal started functioning which was an example of cooperation between the government and the private sector, he added.
He said the terminal will facilitate transporting LNG to power house for producing inexpensive energy.
The premier said that the contract of this terminal was awarded through transparent bidding and the project was completed in a record short time.
