PM Nawaz appears before JIT to record statement
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the Panama leaks case, to record his statement.
He will also respond to the queries of the six-member investigation team.
The prime minister, accompanied with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and other political leaders, arrived at Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad without official protocol.
Strict security arrangements have been made around the Judicial Academy in connection with Prime Minister’s appearance.
It is for the first time in the history of the country that an elected Prime Minister has presented himself for accountability.
Nawaz Sharif also held important meetings with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chudhary Nisar and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to political situation came under discussion. They also discussed legal aspects of the JIT.
