Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reaches Saudi Arabia on three-day visit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached Saudi Arabia on three-day official visit on Wednesday.

He was accorded a rousing welcome at the airport.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, federal minister and Adviser on National Security Nasir Janjua is accompanying the prime minister during his visit.

He is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud to witness the military exercise ‘North Thunder’, while a large number of other Heads of State and Government have also been invited to witness the ongoing military exercise and its closing ceremony.

Troops from 21 countries, including Pakistan, are participating in the exercise, in the northern region of Saudi Arabia. The main goal of the exercise is to improve training in responding to threats posed by terrorist groups.

During the visit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will attend a meeting pertaining to 34-nation military alliance, while he will also hold meeting with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
