Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reaches Sri Lanka on three-day visit

COLOMBO (92 News) –Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reached Sri Lanka on a three-day visit on the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena.

He was received at the airport by Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Shriyan Wickremesinghe accompanied by his foreign minister and high officials.

He is accompanied by First Lady Kalsoom Nawaz, Adviser on National Security Nasir Janjua and high-ranking officials of the PM House.

During the visit, the prime minister will discuss with the Sri Lankan president ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields with focus on trade and economy.

A number of MoUs and agreements will also be signed during the visit.


The prime minister will also address a gathering of ministers, parliamentarians, senior officials, top business persons and members of the diplomatic corps in Colombo.

On the invitation of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also deliver a special lecture.
