PM Nawaz Sharif, Sri Lankan president discuss ways to enhance defense cooperation & trade ties
NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday.
The Sri Lankan president thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for Pakistan’s assistance in the fields of development and defense. “We will never forgot the cooperation Pakistan has extended to Sri Lanka.”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he looked forward to strengthen relations between both countries.
“I hope there will be more cricket series between the two countries,” he said.
Both leaders explored ways of enhancing defense cooperation as well as trade and economic ties.
