PM Nawaz Sharif takes notice of 92 News’ report on irregularities in Nandipur project
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of 92 News’ report on irregularities in the Nandipur project.
He reprimanded the authorities concerned and formed a four-member committee for the restoration of the project. He also ordered audit of the project.
The prime minister warned that stern action will be taken against anyone found guilty of corruption.
On September 4, 92 News had pointed out that the Rs 57 billion project could not start generating power yet.
The Nandipur project illegally benefitted the company that constructed the project. The plant machinery is not working due to substandard material.
The administration has failed to start the normal operation of the project. The country is facing a huge loss due to the closure of the project.
The Water and Power Ministry has sought a report from the administration within three days.
