PM should resign as per his announcement: Shah Mahmood Qureshi
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A delegation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Tuesday called on Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah at his chamber and reviewed the situation after the JIT presented its report in the Supreme Court.
Following the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family in Panama Leaks case, report, the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) decided to requisition the joint session of the parliament to push for the prime minister’s resignation.
Talking to media after meeting, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the opposition parties will jointly form a strategy on the issue of pushing Nawaz Sharif’s resignation.
The premier should resign as per his announcement, adding that it would be better for his party and democracy, he added.
Qureshi further decided to make alliance with other parties including Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-Pakistan), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Awami Muslim League (AML) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) to exert more pressure on the ruling party.
