PM telephones COAS Gen Raheel Sharif, discusses prevailing situation
NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Wednesday telephoned COAS General Raheel Sharif and discussed matters pertaining to Indian-held Kashmir and regional situation.
Sources said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif discussed the meetings with heads of the United Kingdom, Turkey and other countries during his visit to the United States with COAS Gen Raheel Sharif.
They also discussed internal and external threats the country is facing.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the UN General Assembly session today highlighting core issues of interest to the country.
He is expected to brief the world body and the international community about serious situation in IHK due to grave human rights violations by Indian forces and the need to resolve the longstanding dispute.
On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, the Prime Minister will have three important bilateral meetings.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
