NANKANA SAHIB (92 News) – Police have on Sunday registered a case against unidentified people for interfering in state affairs after violent people set ablaze the Auqaf Department office in protest against anti-encroachment drive in Nankana Sahib.

The provincial and national assembly members have assured the area residents of full cooperation.

The protesters pelted with stones the vehicle of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman Siqqiqul Farooq besides resorting to firing.

As a result, two officials and 14 policemen were critically injured in clash with people during an anti-encroachment drive by the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in Nankana Sahib to retrieve its occupied land.

Tension gripped the area after the protest. A heavy contingent of police has also been summoned.

ETPB chairman Siqqiqul Farooq alleged that PML-N MPA Zulqarnain Dogar was leading the Qabza mafia and they would register a case against him.

On the other hand, PML-N MPA Zulqarnain Dogar said that it was their party’s government and the matter should be investigated.
