Police nab owner of drug manufacturing company on SC orders

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Police have on Tuesday apprehended the owner of a drug manufacturing company from the courtroom on the orders of the Supreme Court (SC).

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case against a fake medicine manufacturing company.

The top court also suspended Deputy Inspector General of police (DIG) Raja Riffat, closed relative of Muhammad Usman.

Justice Saqib Nisar directed the Punjab IG Police conduct inquiry against the DIG.

Giving his remarks, the CJP said that the company was manufacturing fake medicines. He asked who was helping the company in manufacturing fake medicines.

Earlier last week, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) through its counsel had filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) against a fake medicine manufacturing company.

The apex court had summoned Muhammad Usman, the owner of the drug manufacturing company.

The CJP had ordered Inspector General of Police Islamabad to ensure the appearance of the company’s owner.
