Polio immunization campaign enters second day
KARACHI (92 News) – The three-day Polio immunization campaign which started yesterday continues on the second day after being delayed twice because of security concerns.
According to Sindh Rangers spokesman, Rangers have also been deployed along with the Police force to provide security to the polio immunization teams.
As many as eight mobiles of Rangers, 11 Motorcycles and 108 Rangers personnel have been deputed in the East Zone, while 664 Rangers personnel have been deputed for the security of polio immunization teams in West Zone and 100 personnel have been deputed in South Zone.
In the first phase, the campaign will continue for three days. The number of children under the age of five in the first phase would be more than a million.
The second phase of the campaign will be launched on Friday for the next three days, which will target another around one million children in Karachi.
