Polio immunization campaign kicks off across the country
KARACHI (92 News) – Anti-polio campaign kicked off in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Tribal Areas on Monday.
In Sindh, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated four-day polio eradication campaign by administering polio drops to the children at a hospital in Karachi.
Our Karachi correspondent reports that over seven point six million children up to the age of five years will be administered with polio drops across the province during the campaign.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, polio teams are visiting door to door to administer polio vaccine drops to the children in high risk districts including, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Swat, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan.
Around 1.7 million children are being administered anti-polio drops in the thirteen districts of Balochistan.
Strict security arrangements have been for the polio teams.
Meanwhile, the polio immunization campaign could be launched due to security reasons but the campaign would be launched from October 28.
