Polling underway for PK-30 Mansehra by-poll
MANSEHRA (92 News) – The polling is underway for the vacant seat of PK-30 Mansehra by-poll on Tuesday.
Though six candidates are in the running a tough contest is likely between PTI’s Shed Ahmed Hussain Shah and Syed Mazhar Ali Qasim of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). As many as 193,000 voters will cast their votes.
The seat had fallen vacant following the disqualification of PML-N MPA Mian Ziaur Rehman by the Supreme Court last year in a fake degree case.
The district administration has set up 186 polling stations for men and women across the constituency, where over 2,000 security personnel, including 1,200 army soldiers, will be deployed to ensure peaceful and impartial polling.
The security and election personnel gathered at the Elementary College in Gazikot before leaving for their respective polling stations on Monday along with ballot boxes, ballot papers and other materials.
