Polling underway in PK-93 by-elections
PESHAWAR (92 News) – Polling is under way in the by-election on a vacant seat in constituency PK-93 Upper Dir.
Polling began at 8am and will continue till 5pm without any break.
The Pakistan People’s Party candidate has been supported by the Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is supporting Jamat-e-Islami candidate.
It will be a tough contest between JI’s Malik Azam Khan and PPP’s Sahibzada Sanaullah.
Over 1,48,076 registered voters including over 90,968 male voters and 57,708 female voters will exercise their right to vote.
As many as 120 polling stations have been set up in the constituency, of which 14 polling stations have been set up for female voters while 114 polling stations have been set up for male voters, while 30 polling stations have been declared sensitive.
The seat fell vacant after disqualification of former MPA Behram Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami in a fake degree case in July.
