ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan have congratulated Pakistan Kabaddi team for winning the world cup title.

In a tweet, the president called for dedicating this victory to ‘peace’ in the region and the world.

In his message, the prime minister said he feels proud for the team which brought fame to the country and the nation.

“Congratulations to the Pakistan Kabbadi team for winning the Kabbadi World Cup after defeating India,” Imran Khan tweeted.

Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has also congratulated the whole nation over winning Kabaddi World Cup by defeating India.

In a tweet, she said Pakistan Kabaddi team has raised the head of entire nation with pride by winning the world cup. She hoped the team would keep playing with same spirit and keep Pakistani flag always fly high.

On Sunday, Pakistan beat  India by 43 to 41 points in a final match of Kabbadi World Cup 2020 in Lahore.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has won the Kabaddi World Cup for the first time.

Pakistan and India stormed into the final of the Kabaddi World Cup at Punjab Stadium. The stadium was completely filled with spectators. The international players were encouraged due to the enthusiasm of the fans.

The match was started at 7:30pm. The players from both the sides exhibited top class kabaddi during the tough contest. Defending champions India maintained their supremacy against host Pakistan in the first half by 24-18.

A turning point of the match during the fifth minute of the second half after a point was awarded to the Pakistan. Pakistan leveled the match at 32 points each and started to build a lead.

Pakistan raiders and stoppers took control of the match right from the second half and did not give their opponents any room to settle down. Indian team tried their best but they could accumulate only 41 points.

During the match the spectators enjoyed and raised slogans in the favour of their favourite players.

Pakistan was awarded a cash prize of ten million rupees along the trophy while Indian team was given seven point five million rupees cash prize.

Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, who was the chief guest of the final match, distributed prizes among the players.
