President Xi vows to work with Pakistan to build new era of shared destiny
BEIJING (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan called on Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday.
Both the leaders reviewed bilateral relations between both countries. They discussed important in detail regional and international matters of mutual interest.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed willingness to work together with Prime minister Imran Khan to strengthen Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership and build a new era of shared destiny. Xi Jinping said China attaches great importance to its relations, with Pakistan reaffirming they were “all-weather” friends.
He reiterated China’s steadfast support to Pakistan on all issues of core interest.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasized President Xi’s vision of Belt and Road initiative and its flagship project CPEC would translate into a win-win situation for shared prosperity in the entire region and beyond.
Imran Khan said friendship with China is the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and expressed the desire to further consolidate this relationship.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan stands by China in safeguarding mutual interests, shared ideals and promoting multilateralism. He extended an invitation to President Xi Jinping to visit Pakistan which he accepted.
Both the leaders reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and held in-depth discussions on regional and global matters of mutual interest.
The two leaders agreed to work closely to overcoming growing political and economic uncertainities.
Prime Minister Imran Khan amd President Xi also reviewed progress of CPEC, expressed satisfaction on its achievements and undertook for its early completion to maximize the benefits for Pakistan. The Chinese President congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan on his election and assumption of office.
Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked the Chinese President, government and the people of China for their warm sentiments and hospitality.
He congratulated them on the 40th anniversary of ‘Reform and Opening-up’ which has resulted in China’s meteoric rise.
Prime Minister Imran Khan invited the Chinese president to visit Pakistan and the latter accepted the invitation.
Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Imran Khan on his victory in the general elections. He expressed the wish to work with the prime minister to enhance Pak-China mutual strategic cooperation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that friendship with China is the basis of Pakistans’ foreign policy.
The Chinese president assured the prime minister of all-out cooperation to deal with economic challenges. “China will always be with Pakistan to defend mutual interests,” he maintained.
After the one-on-one meeting with the Chinese meeting, Prime Minister led the delegation level talks. The Chinese delegation was led by President Xi Jinping.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Planning Minister Khusro Bakhtiar and Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid are also accompanying the prime minister.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang tomorrow, when the two countries are expected to sign a series of agreements.
PM invites AIIB to explore projects in various sectors of Pakistan
Prime Minister Imran Khan held a meeting with President Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun in Beijing today.
He discussed with him the development projects in Pakistan.Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also met Minister for International Department of Communist Party of China Song Tao in Beijing.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on matters of mutual interest. Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to explore projects in power generation, transmission, transport, and water supply sectors in Pakistan.
Talking to President Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun in Beijing today, he underscored several cooperation opportunities existed in these areas.
The prime minister said that his government has prioritized economic revival and structural reforms and is also making all-out efforts for poverty alleviation.
He said, being a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Pakistan fully supports Bank’s mission.
The AIIB had achieved good results in a very short span of time since its establishment in 2016 and was financing different projects in Pakistan.
AIIB President said the bank is committed to playing its role in Pakistan’s economic development, while upholding the shared principles of openness transparency, independence and accountability. It was also agreed to expedite disbursements for projects in the pipeline.
Pakistan fully shares IDCPC’s mission of promoting people to people contacts: PM
Talking to Minister of International Department of CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) Song Tao in Beijing today,Prime Minister Imran Khan said goodwill amongst people of Pakistan and China provides firm basis for Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership for shared future.
Prime Minister said Pakistan fully shares IDCPC’s mission of promoting people to people contacts, including exchanges between political parties, academia, media, youth, women and think tanks.
He said these exchanges would ensure that the exceptional friendship between Pakistan and China endures from generation to generation.
Song Tao reaffirmed IDCPC would always play its role in strengthening Pakistan-China relations, which have always enjoyed a special place in China’s international relations.
