Protest against overbilling: Citizens tear, throw bills before Abid Sher Ali’s vehicle in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA (92 News) – Citizens protested against overbilling, tore their bills and threw them before the vehicle of State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali.
They chanted slogans against the government. Later, the security officials pushed them back.
Earlier addressing the inaugural ceremony of a 32KV grid station in Gujranwala on Monday, he said that the PML-N believes in the Charter of Democracy.
“All steps will be taken for the stability of democratic institutions,” he added.
The minister said that the government and the Army are on the same page with regard to the Karachi operation. “The Karachi operation is not against any political party, but it is against criminals, corrupt people and extortionists,” he added.
He said that peace in Karachi is in favor of all parties.
Abid Sher Ali said that Imran & Co had tried to distract the government from progress and prosperity.
He said that the period of ball tampering had passed and the people would dismantle his (Imran) pitch.
He hoped Ayaz Sadiq would win the NA-122 by-poll by a double margin. He announced a bonus for the Gepco employees working at the grid station.
