Protesting doctors baton-charged in Islamabad; announce sit-in till acceptance of demands
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Police baton-charged doctors and paramedics who had taken out a rally to press for the restoration of Health Risk Allowance on Tuesday.
The police and the protesters clashed with each other when the latter were stopped at NADRA Chowk. The police baton-charged and arrested several protesters.
Two doctors were injured and taken to Poly Clinic.
Later, the protesters staged a sit-in at NADRA Chowk and threatened to continue till acceptance of their demands and release of their colleagues.
Earlier, they also observed a strike in all departments except the emergency. As a result, patients faced a lot of problems.
