PTI chairman Imran Khan announces sit-in on October 4 if ECP members do not resign
LAHORE (92 News) – PTI chairman Imran Khan has announced that a sit-in will be staged outside the Election Commission of Pakistan on October 4 if its members do not resign.
Addressing a gathering on Saturday, he said that the PTI would participate in the by-elections and LG polls.
The PTI chief announced that Jahangir Tareen will be the party candidate from Lodhran, while Aleem Khan and Shoaib Siddiqui will be the candidates from Lahore. “We will install a camera in each polling station,” he said.
Imran Khan said that he had called for opening only four constituencies. “PAT chief Tahirul Qadri said that status quo is occupying the election system,” he added.
He alleged that former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry was also involved in match-fixing.
He said that he was fighting for his nation.
“I ordered re-election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the rigging charge. The group occupying the system does not allow honest people to come forward,” he said.
Earlier before his departure from Islamabad, PTI chairman Imran Khan again challenged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to play the match in NA-122.
He said that the ECP was involved in the match-fixing.
“Justice (retd) Riaz Kyani is a player of the N-League. Had the tribunal verdicts come earlier the inquiry commission decision would have been different,” he maintained.
