LAHORE (92 News) – Removing the last hurdle in holding Raiwind march, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday given Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) permission to hold Raiwind march tomorrow (Friday) at Adda Plot near the residence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over Panama leaks
A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Shahid Hameed Dar yesterday reserved the verdict on petitions regarding PTI’s Raiwind march near the residence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s in Raiwind.
A citizen namely Atif Sattar had filed a petition in the high court against the march in which he maintained that there was a threat of riots due to the much-hyped confrontation between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday.
On the other hand, the preparations for the march are in process, while arrangements for lights have also completed. PTI chairman Imran Khan would address the rally and thousands of chairs would be installed for the public. The party workers will reach Lahore in groups and their respective group leaders have been given the task to look after their team members.
Earlier, PTI chairman Imran Khan said that they will write a new history on Friday.
Addressing gatherings at different places on Wednesday, he said that celebration would start from today. “We will not stop till accountability of the prime minister,” he said. Imran Khan said that caravans had also departed from other cities.
He said that Nawaz Sharif was caught red-handed, but the institutions kept silent over the issue. Imran said that he would announce a date for marching towards the Election Commission if it gave another date in the Nawaz disqualification reference.
