PTI rebuts reports of Imran Khan’s third marriage
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in an official statement issued on Sunday rebutted the media reports of party chairman Imran Khan’s third marriage.
According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of PTI chairman, Imran Khan has proposed marriage to Bushra Maneka, who asked for time to make a final decision after consulting her family, including her children.
“It is indeed sad to see this extremely private and sensitive matter be made the subject of an erroneous story leading to all manner of public conjecture,” the statement said adding that this has put an unacceptable burden especially on the children of Ms Maneka and Imran Khan who have had to learn of such a private and intimate issue from the media.
The statement further added: “If and when the proposal is accepted by Ms Maneka for the marriage, the PTI chairman will announce it publicly in the proper manner. Till then we request the media to give the two families, especially the children, their privacy.”
“It is unfortunate and regrettable that Umar Cheema of the Jhang Group chose to do a conjectural story on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s personal life, which also involved another person – a very private lady who is not in public,” the statement said.
Earlier, there were reports that cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan is believed to have tied the knot for the third time with a woman he used to visit for spiritual guidance. The leaders of his party had, however, rejected the report.
On Saturday, Bushra Bibi’s son Mohammad Moosa Manika denied the reports of his mother’s marriage with the PTI chief. He said he had asked his mother to solemnize marriage with the PTI chief, but she turned down the proposal.
Khan had first tied the knot with Jemima Goldsmith on May 16, 1995, which ended in divorce after nine years on June 22, 2004. His second marriage was with Reham, which lasted only 10 months.
