Public holiday in KPK on martyrdom of Hazrat Umar (RA)
PESHAWAR (92 News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday on first of Muharram to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA), the second caliph of Muslims.
The KPK government had announced the public holiday today and all the government schools, offices and courts are close today.
The Peshawar High Court has also announced holiday today in its declaration.
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. On the first day of Muharram, the Islamic New Year is observed by Muslims.
