LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab Assembly (PA) on Tuesday passed two bills, The Punjab Local Government Bill 2019, The Punjab Villages Panchayats and Neighborhood Councils Bill 2019.

According to the reports, the Local Government Bill was passed with majority in the provincial assembly during ruckus marred by the opposition party. During the session, the opposition party members staged protest and the PA speaker called them to have a seat but they did not notice to him.

After the ruckus, the opposition members staged walkout from the assembly and pointed finger about the quorum. After walkout, the government passed two bills, The Punjab Local Government Bill 2019, The Punjab Villages Panchayats and Neighborhood Councils Bill 2019.

Punjab Minister for Forestry Wildlife Muhammad Sibtain Khan during the question hour told the House that the Punjab government will plant four hundred and ninety million trees across the province during the next five years.

To another question, Sibtain Khan said that Wildlife Protection Force has established for the life-safety of Wildlife in Punjab.

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bukhari told the House that Punjab government has allocated eighty million rupees for artists’ support fund for the welfare and betterment of the people of art and culture.

Later, the Punjab Assembly session was adjourned to meet again on Thursday afternoon at 2PM.

After the session, Punjab Chief Minister refuted the rumours regarding reshuffling of Punjab cabinet, saying that the party chairman has complete confidence on him.

Punjab Cabinet approves new local bodies system

The Punjab Cabinet meeting presided over the provincial by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar approved the Punjab Local Government Act 2019.

The meeting also approved the draft of Water Act 2019 through which a water resources commission will be established under the chair of the chief minister. This water resources commission will ensure getting the license for getting water.
