Punjab, Balochistan and KPK receive rain; Weather turns pleasant

LAHORE (92 News) – Different parts of the country including Lahore received downpour bringing pleasant change in the prevailing hot weather, cooling down the temperature on Sunday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the rain was received in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan provinces and northern parts of the country. “Chakwal received 37 mm rain, Murree 30, Muzaffarabad 36, Ghari Dupatta 10, Rawalakot 5, Kotli Azad Kashmir 13, Bahawalpur and Bhakkar 11, Dera Ghazi Khan 9, Dera Ismail Khan 7, Jauhar Abad and Balakot 4, Saidu 2, Bannu 5, Sibi 22 and Zhob received 7 mm,” as per reports.

The rainfall was reported from Sheikhupura, Haveli Lakha and surrounding areas. The Met Office has forecast more rain during the next two to three days.

Meanwhile, Met Department authorities forecast rains in the evening in Karachi, bringing good news to the city which has lost more than 500 lives in four days due to intense heat. “We are anticipating a sea breeze will set in some time tonight. The temperature will come down as the monsoon rain enters the Sindh coast, bringing rain to the city,” said Ghulam Rasool, director general of the Meteorological Department.
