Punjab govt agrees to amend Women Protection Act

LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab government has agreed to amend the Women Protection Act.

The government briefed Ulema belonging to different schools of thought about the Act.

However, Ulema expressed their reservations about several sections of the Act.

Chief Minister Office Member Salman Sufi said that the section of expelling the husband from house for 48 hours will not be applicable.

He said that other reservations will also be removed.
