Punjab govt launches Khidmat Cards Program for special persons

LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has on Tuesday said that helping special persons is a duty of government and society.

The Punjab government on Tuesday launched Khidmat Cards Program with Rs 2billion for providing financial assistance to special persons.

Addressing the launching ceremony in Lahore on Tuesday, Shahbaz Sharif assured that the government will assist special persons, however, it is the duty of the society to help them.

The CM said that under the program, special persons will be provided 3,600 rupees after every three months.” Initially, two hundred thousand people will benefit from the program,” he said.


Commenting on the law and order situation in the province, he said that the political meddling will not be tolerated in gang rape case, adding that the landlord, who chopped off both hands of a poor laborer in Sheikhupura, will definitely be punished if convicted.
