Renowned chef Zubaida Tariq laid to rest in Karachi
KARACHI (92 News) – Prominent chef and cooking expert Zubaida Aapa Tariq, who passed away in Karachi after a protracted illness, was laid to rest on Friday.
She was 72.
Zubaida Tariq alias Zubaida Apa was famous for her handy culinary and housekeeping hints (totkas). She was a household name, and used to do culinary shows and wrote cookbooks.
She was born into an educated family of Hyderabad Deccan in 1945. Zubaida Apa was the youngest of the 9 siblings.
The personality belonged to an eminent household which also includes Fatima Surraiya Bajiya, Anwar Maqsood, and Zehra Nigah.
Her family migrated to Karachi in 1948, immediately after the fall of the Hyderabad state, which was invaded by the Indian army on September 11, the day the Quaid-e-Azam died here.
Her funeral prayer will be offered at Sultan Mosque in Defence area of Karachi after Jumma prayer.
