Rights activist Sabeen Mahmud buried; FIR registered
KARACHI (92 News) – Funeral of rights activist Sabeen Mahmud was buried in a local graveyard on Saturday.
Earlier, her funeral was held in Defence Phase II mosque. A large number of people, including PTI and MQM leaders, attended the funeral.
Sabeen’s colleagues paid her rich tributes, saying that she was brave woman.
Meanwhile, the Defence police have registered the murder case of the rights activist Sabeen Mahmud on Saturday.
The case has been registered on the application of her injured mother Mehnaz Mehmud. She told the police that they are receiving threats.
The section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and sections of murder and attempt to murder has been included in the FIR.
On the other hand, the police have sent the bullets shells recovered from the site to Forensic Laboratory.
Sabeen Mahmud’s driver, in his statement, said that Sabeen Mahmud was driving the car, while her mother was sitting beside her.
He said that he laid on the rear seat when motorcyclists sprayed bullets on them.
He stated that he could not identify the killers.
