SAARC conference postponed
LAHORE (92 News) – The upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference to be hosted by Pakistan in November has been postponed as India exerted pressure on other member states for not attending the conference.
The leader state of SAARC, Nepal, has cancelled the conference, Indian media claimed on Wednesday.
Bangladesh and Nepal have informed Pakistan about their decisions not to attend the conference.
The Pakistan Foreign Office, however, said that it had not received any official statement regarding the matter. A framework would be decided when India or any other member state would give any formal information about not attending the conference, the FO said.
