Sadiq Sanjrani, Mandviwala elected Senate chairman, deputy chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sadiq Sanjrani, an independent senator from Balochistan, and Saleem Mandviwala, a joint candidate of the PPP and the PTI, were elected the Senate chairman and deputy chairman respectively.

Sadiq Sanjrani bagged 57 votes, while Raja Zafarul Haq of the PML-N got 46 votes.

On the other hand, Saleem Mandviwala got 54 votes, while PML-N-backed Usman Kakar bagged 43 votes.

As many as 103 senators elected the Senate chairman and deputy chairman through a secret ballot.


Sardar Yaqoob Nasir administered the oath to newly-elected Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani who later assumed the office.
